This application is intended only for dental implant programs at Universities, Hospital Systems, or Professional Programs.

Maintaining and improving the quality of advanced education in the disciplines of oral implantology/implant dentistry is a primary aim of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).  The Academy recognizes programs that meet the Standards for Advanced Education Program in Oral Implantology.  Graduates from approved programs are eligible to apply for AAID Associate Fellow membership without examination.

Approval of these advanced education programs is a voluntary effort on the part of all parties involved.  The process of approval assures students, the AAID, and the public that approved training programs are in essential compliance with published guidelines.

Major changes in the program administration or curriculum must be reported to the Education Committee of the AAID.  Program approval will be withdrawn when the training program no longer conforms to the guidelines as specified in this document, when all first-year positions remain vacant for a period of two years, or when a program fails to respond to requests for program information.  Exceptions for non-enrollment may be made by the Education Committee for programs with “approval” status upon receipt of a formal request from an institution stating reasons why the status of the program should not be withdrawn.

Programs should be at least two years in duration. Advanced education in oral implantology/implant dentistry may be offered as either a degree and/or a certificate program.

This is not an application for those seeking an Associate Fellow by credential. This application should be completed and submitted by an official of the program (Program Director, Coordinator) seeking approval of the program as a whole.
